FOMO: The Fear of Missing the Move
Risk warning: Chasing price worsens entries and widens risk. This is education, not financial advice.
FOMO is the fear of missing the move. Price jumps, you jump in late — then you lose.
How FOMO looks
- You miss a buy at support. Price runs 50 pips. You buy at the top. It pulls back and hits your stop.
- A Telegram group posts "VIP signal — buy now!" You click without your plan.
In Lagos, FOMO often hits during London/New York overlap 1pm–5pm WAT when moves look big and fast.
How to beat it
- Your plan says when to enter. If the entry is gone, there is no trade. See Entry and Exit Rules.
- Wait for the next pullback to support/resistance. See Support and Resistance.
- Write the miss in your Journal: "missed — chased, -₦300 — next time wait."
There is always another trade tomorrow. The market never sleeps.
For scam FOMO from signal sellers, see Signal Seller Scams: Why Free VIP Groups Drain Wallets.
Rate used: ~₦1,500 / $1. Small amounts like ₦150 use same rate.
Bottom line: Wait for your setup at support, ignore Telegram rush, or you risk chasing the top and buying your loss. Links To Guides: Pillar 4 (Safety).
