From Demo to Live: Crossing the Line Safely
Risk warning: Live trading feels different. This is education, not financial advice. Only risk money you can afford to lose.
Demo uses fake money. Live uses real naira. The shift tests your emotions.
Are you ready? Check these:
- 50 backtests with your plan and 1:2 risk-reward. See Backtesting.
- 2 weeks profitable on demo with your plan, 1% risk, and a journal. See The Trading Journal.
- You can name your stop and take profit before you click. See Entry and Exit Rules.
If any is no, stay on demo.
How to cross safely
- Open a Cent account with ₦15,000 / ~$10 via GTBank/Access or USDT on Binance P2P. See Account Types.
- Risk 1% (₦150) per trade with micro/cent lots. See Position Sizing.
- Trade one pair in London 8am–5pm WAT only.
- Stop after 2 losses or one week — review the journal.
Do not add more naira until you finish one month with discipline. See Discipline: The Trait That Beats Any Strategy.
Guides: How to Use a Demo Account and How to Start Forex with ₦15,000 from Zero.
Rate used: ~₦1,500 / $1. Small amounts like ₦150 use same rate.
Bottom line: Do 50 backtests and two weeks demo profit, then Cent live with ₦15,000 / ~$10 and 1%, or you risk live shock. Links To Guides: Pillar 2 (Money), Pillar 3 (Beginner Setup).
