What I do at KoboFX
I research, write, and maintain everything on this site myself — every guide, every school lesson, and every broker review. No guest posts, no outsourced reviews, no paid placements disguised as education.
The focus is narrow on purpose: honest forex education for beginners everywhere. It started with the Nigerian context. That means funding with local money, USDT via P2P, unregulated-broker risks, and the scam scripts running on WhatsApp and Telegram — fake-profit screenshots, pressure to deposit fast, mentors who vanish when a withdrawal fails.
Why start with Nigeria
Most forex content aimed at Nigerians falls into two groups: paid signal groups promising easy money, and generic international guides that ignore local funding and scam realities. The scam playbook I watched in those signal groups mirrors what beginners everywhere face — same screenshots, same pressure tactics, same unregulated brokers. Victims change country; the script stays the same. Nigeria is our first local hub — see /ng/.
So KoboFX sits in the middle: plain-language education with the risks stated up front. If a broker has a weakness, I say so. If a "mentor" tactic looks like a scam I have seen before, I name it. Start with the guide to signal-seller scams or the real scam stories from Lagos and Abuja.
Trading background
- 3 years trading forex — learning the same basics this site teaches: demo first, small positions, risk limits.
- Specialties: broker regulation checks, price-action basics, risk management, and scam-pattern recognition.
- Not: a broker, a signal seller, or a financial adviser. Nothing here is financial advice or a trading signal.
Editorial standards
- Plain language first. Written for a complete beginner. Jargon gets explained or cut.
- Risk warnings are not decoration. CFD trading carries high risk — most retail traders lose money.
- Facts come from primary sources. Broker details (minimum deposits, regulation, platforms) come from the brokers' own sites and documents, then get updated when terms change.
- Corrections are welcome. Spotted an error? Email irisslee95@gmail.com and I will fix it.
How KoboFX makes money
KoboFX is free to read and funded by affiliate commissions. If you open a broker account through a link here, the broker may pay a commission — at no extra cost to you. This never changes a rating. Every review discloses its partner code, and the rating methodology explains exactly how scores are assigned.
