Funded But Not Paid: How Prop Payouts Work
Risk warning: A funded account is not cash in hand. This is education, not financial advice.
Passing a challenge buys you a funded login, not a payout. You still need min days, KYC papers, and a profit split. Many funded traders never reach a withdrawal.
Demo example — not a signal. Payout rails and splits differ per firm; check the firm rules page.
Funded is not paid
Funded means you may trade firm capital under rules. It does not mean money waits for you.
Payout needs three gates: min trading days, verified KYC, and profit above threshold. Miss one gate and cash stays locked.
Your $57 fee paid for the test, not for income. See Prop Firm Challenge: What Your Fee Really Buys.
Split cuts profit
Split divides profit between you and the firm. A common example is 80/20.
Demo example — not a signal. You make $1,000 on a $10,000 funded account with a 20-pip stop and a 40-pip target per trade. At 80/20 you keep about $800. That is about $800 at our rate.
Splits differ per firm and per stage. Check the firm rules page before you pay. See Prop Firm Drawdown Rules.
Payout rules block cash
Most firms set min days, often around 10 trading days. Some demand a calm streak with no big loss day.
Many set a payout threshold too. You must earn above it before you may request.
Rules change without notice. Screenshot the rules page the day you pay. See Withdrawal Problems.
KYC asks papers
Firms ask for ID before first payout. Expect a national ID or international passport plus a selfie.
Names must match your bank and wallet exactly. One letter off can freeze payout for weeks.
Never send your ID number or wallet PIN to anyone. Real KYC runs inside the firm dashboard only. See Protect Your Account.
Cash-out paths differ
Firms rarely pay straight to a mobile wallet. Common rails are USDT, e-wallet, then bank wire.
USDT often lands same day. E-wallets take about 24 hours. Bank wires take 2–5 working days.
Test with a small request first, such as $50. Then move profit to your bank account in small steps. See USDT via Binance P2P.
Deny reasons repeat
Firms deny payout for the same list: news trade breach, hidden lot cap, consistency fail, or a mid-challenge rule change.
Keep a journal of every trade with screenshots. Proof helps when you appeal.
If payout fails twice with shifting excuses, stop and report. See Forex Recovery Scam before anyone offers to recover it for a fee. Also see The Trading Journal.

Frequently Asked Questions
When do I get my first prop payout?
After min trading days, verified KYC, and profit above the payout threshold. Exact gates differ per firm, so check the firm rules page.
What profit split is normal?
Many firms show 80/20 as an example, with a higher share at later stages. Treat every number as an example until you read the live rules.
Can I withdraw to my bank or wallet?
Rarely in one step. Most firms pay via USDT or e-wallet first, then you move money to your bank. Test a small request before you trust the path.
Do I pay tax on prop payouts?
Keep records of every fee, payout, and transfer. See our tax guide and ask a professional. This article is not tax advice.
